Minigolf European Championships in Neutraubling, Germany
Largest Minigolf Sport Competition of the year starts in Europe today.

Europe's top Minigolf players will be competing at the EMF European Championships in Neutraubling, Germany from the 20 to 23 August.

Taking place on two 18-hole courses (Concrete and Miniaturegolf) at the host minigolf club venue at BGC Neutraubling, nine men's teams, eight women's teams, and a total of 158 players will play in the tournament. Defending champions from Germany, Sweden and Italy will be in action alongside twelve other European nations.

The team titles will be contested on the first two days, with individual strokeplay and matchplay championships decided on days three and four.

Pasi Aho from BGC Neutraubling said "We are very excited to organise such a great Minigolf event on our courses and very proud that the European Minigolf Sport Federation has decided to assign our club the main event of the 2014 minigolf season. We are sure our guests will enjoy our courses, location and competition."

The countries competing this year are Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and The Netherlands.

In addition three athletes from India will be represented and are special guests in the EMF European Championships. They are competing in the event thanks to the efforts of the local organisers, the DMV and the European Minigolf Federation in order to aid development of Minigolf Sport in India.

The EMF European Championships are jointly organised by the DMV (German Minigolfsport Federation) and BGC Neutraubling.

  • EMF Men's European Matchplay Champion – Paolo Porta (ITA)
  • EMF Women's European Matchplay Champion – Anne Bollrich (SWE)

Four countries host Minigolf tournaments in the 2014 international season as European, Asian and World Minigolf Championships are staged in Finland, Germany, Iran and Sweden.

The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) is the umbrella organisation of Minigolf sports association's worldwide and continental associations in Asia, Europe and America. The WMF currently has 46 member nations whose players and clubs play on four Minigolf systems recognised by the WMF – Concrete, Miniaturegolf, Feltgolf and Minigolf Open Standard (MOS). The WMF is a member of SportAccord.

The European Minigolf Sport Federation (EMF) is the umbrella organisation of Minigolf sports association's across Europe and has 32 member nations. The EMF is part of the World Minigolf Sport Federation.
